As Jordan’s first occupational therapist, Dr. Widad founded Al-Masar Child Development Services — the first and only comprehensive development center for special needs children in the Middle East. Serving special needs children beyond the basic treatments offered by government-run programs, the center offers three services: a day school program, specialized evaluation and therapy sessions, and an early intervention program. Families travel from around the country and abroad to receive these services. Al-Masar is on its way to propelling Jordan to the forefront of the Child Development Services sector in the Middle East, while greatly enriching the lives of special needs children and their families.

Endeavor and Al-Masar

Endeavor Jordan introduced Dr. Widad to numerous valuable local contacts to help her establish a nonprofit arm. The office has also provided an advisory board, ad-hoc mentoring, and an Ernst & Young advisor.
